President
As president of MDS, Inc., W.C. Coggins is charged with some of the most unique and exciting duties known to law enforcement. With over twenty years of policing experience, both with private security and government, he has carried out a broad range of law enforcement as well as administrative responsibilities in very limited circumstances as well as larger organizations.
Whether patrolling high crime areas or analyzing security threats to dignitaries or high-profile clients, his primary goals have focused on a proactive approach to law enforcement as opposed to a reactive approach; by rapidly assessing threats, gathering intelligence from an investigative standpoint and working from a commonsense approach, he has statistically shown noticeable reductions of criminal activity in high crime areas and has never had a failure in protecting any client from a viable threat.
His experience includes but is not limited to:
- fugitive apprehension
- court security
- transporting and processing prisoners
- performing body searches of prisoners and persons under arrest
- assisting in the protection of the President of the United States
- protecting government-funded housing establishments, and
- serving extremely high-risk warrants
His specialized training includes but is not limited to:
- Drug Enforcement Administration task force training
- FBI SWAT training
- Firearms Instructor-Certified
He has always required of himself and others tact, courtesy, and respect for prisoners, associates, subordinates, and the general public. The 24-hours a day availability of his services and the rapid deployment of substantial backup when needed for security threats and general protection makes him one of Atlanta’s most sought after security managers.
Vice President Paul Merritt has over 15 years experience in security, law enforcement, counter-terrorism, and SWAT/tactical applications. He has trained with numerous local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. He has been involved in the protection of numerous dignitaries, political officials. As a certified law enforcement trainer/instructor, he has trained numerous law enforcement agencies and has over five years of experience in developing training programs for law enforcement. He has provided security consultation and coordination for several private companies. He contiues to seak out new techniques to deliver the most effective security services possible. He has a B. S. (summa cum laude) in criminal justice from Georgia State University.
